Med-Star to limit non-patient passengers on ambulances. Historically, Med-Star has always allowed family members and friends to accompany in the ambulance with a patient to the hospital. Effective today they are instructing field staff to discourage non-medical personnel to ride in the ambulance with patients that the field providers feel may have a contagious disease. This will help limit exposure of non-patients to contagions in a confined space such as in ambulances at least until this crisis is over.
